Covid thoughts!
So, we are still in a mixed-up world. Things have changed, and we all now know what ‘Furloughed’ means and own a mask!
I like everyone else have found it a stressful time. Being made furloughed, then returning to work to be retrain to be as a surveyor and drive around the country surveying, to then be made redundant! I was worried to be looking for work at a very difficult time but luckily have found a position, very quickly, back in teaching.
I also have decided to focus on what I want from life and my career and one of the areas I am most happy in is styling. I have worked on photo shoots before and always love the interaction between the products being displayed for the clients and the final photos. I have always had an eye for display and presentation and loved interior magazines since my teens, so I think it’s time to start doing what I enjoy! I am presently on a course with the Interior Stylist Lucy Gough ( https://www.lucygoughstylist.com/ ) to gain the guidance to break into the area and find paid projects. I have more time to travel around the country now my children have grown and so as a lot of this type of work is London based it means I can start to look further afield.
Over the lockdown period I was very creative and produced a sketchbook of collage, hoop embroidery, refurbished furniture and rescued and an old leather pouffe amongst other projects! I may show some of this work once things open up fully.
With Autumn on our doorstep my thoughts have turned to the coming of winter and cold nights curled up on the sofa with a book and a cuppa. This meant I have been weather proofing my studio so I do not have any leaks like last year. Fingers crossed….
