The adventure of travel….

Travel is one of my loves, I am always in awe of new places, smells, tastes and sounds, and Barcelona was amazing and didn’t disappoint. I have been before, many years ago but returning reminded me why its one of my favourite cities. It has everything; architecture, beauty, art, beaches, wonderful food, bars and restaurants, shopping, museums, old and new areas, places to get lost in and forget yourself and street art! We saw the most amazing things but I think the most amazing was La Sagrada Familia, Gaudi’s cathedral. It was so much bigger that when I first saw it and omg is it stunning! We wandered around it in total amazement of the beauty and detail of the place, nothing is left undecorated from its top to the bottom. We also visited Gaudi’s Park Guell, the Picasso Museum, the bustle of Las Ramblas, the famous St Joesph Market La Boqueria, the Gothic quarter in the old city (which is the artsy side), the port at Barceloneta when you can eat the most amazing sea food…….or in our case Paella…..as well as the Golden Fish by Frank Gehry! We also did find time to relax and swim in the roof top pool at our hotel, go to the beach as well as eat and drink Barcelona style. What a wonderful, most needed adventure away from daily life!
