Rainy May!
Well, May has been a washout!
We are nearly half way through the year and I can’t say it’s been any better than the last, so far! The third lockdown was a hard one teaching online. Having to redo all lesson resources and PowerPoints to work in online sessions overnight! Teaching learners who can’t use laptop and Tablets and having to show them how to use them and Teams without being in the room with them was extremely stressful and frustrating.
Then I fell ill with Covid on Easter Sunday and life totally stopped. Isolation, PCR tests, Track & Trace, County Council Local Health Authority phone calls (mostly all asking the same questions) and dealing with work, was totally exhausting whilst being very ill. I suffered every Covid symptom and the fatigue was so bad I slept, a lot! Since then, I have suffered long Covid symptoms too and so have only just started returning back to work. I have found that it all has really affected my mental health being isolated for so long, really since the start of the year, and I have lost all my mojo and just feel meh!
The weather has also made it so hard to get out even for a walk, to do a bit of gardening or gain a little vitamin A! I know I am not the only one struggling with this epidemic and that everyone has a story, but it is hard to find something positive to focus on. What will the future hold when we can’t plan anything? If anyone has any great advice, please send answers on a postcard!
