A weekend of colour!
This weekend I have enjoyed the work of others in a riot of colour and wonder.
Firstly I have to mention the amazing street art piece on the side of a hairdressers in Nuneaton on Anker Street. Not only does it brighten the building it also shows what local talent we have. N4t4 and other artists worked on the piece which is a vibrant, colourful, interesting work of public art. It is there for all to enjoy so make sure you hunt for it…it will blow you away!
I also went to the opening of a community art project at the Heritage Centre in Nuneaton. This was the brainchild of many but the two artists who collaborated were Zara Day and Alisha Miller. It was then worked on by many ranging from the Escape Art Group, In Stitches sewing group to local schools and volunteers to make it come alive. I myself worked on parts of the giant tablecloth and napkins, chandeliers and the giant paper flowers. However due to work commitments I could not help in the final stages. This was a shame… but I then got to enjoy the wonderful wonder which hit me as I walked into the colourful room, it was a feast for the eyes.
It is most certainly a celebration of all that the Heritage Centre does for the community and it is a lot to take in however I would recommend a visit to see for yourself. The Celebration Tablecloth Project will be exhibiting till Tuesday 14th November 4 pm when sadly it will be have to be taken down, so make sure you visit it soon!
