Where does the time go?

Spring is here in full bloom and we have already had some lovely summer heat! I love the spring as it always makes me feel that it’s a time for new beginnings.  The Swallows have returned to nest in the barns.  Many other birds are nesting too and some like our Robins have already had babies which have already flown the nest!
I have been busy too working on many projects and have had the recent joy of meeting the Archbishop of Canterbury and Bishop Christopher who came to see the work we do at North Warwickshire and South Leicester College. My students showed them that they had been looking at the 17 UN Goals for sustainability. They chose to look at goal 14 ‘Life below the ocean’ and as a part of that we have been looking at plastic in our seas and the devastating effects it is having on life on our planet.
To continue the theme we also made Morsbags, made out of donated fabric, to promote not using plastic bags at the supermarkets. We gave one of these bags to his Grace the Archbishop and other guests, whilst some had a go at making one themselves. Bishop Christopher was particularly proud of his.
I am now hoping for my life to slow down for a while so I can focus on my own art projects through the warmer months as well as looking forward to our summer holiday. Let’s see if it does!
